Fractal Design R4 Removing Front Door?

I'm liking the r4 a lot, but why is this door on here.. Does it not significantly impact air intake?

If I have to remove the door might as well get Enthoo Pro?

Get the updated R5 model. No reason to get R4, theyve improved it.

The R5 & R4 are very quiet cases. Theres plenty of fan options, plenty of bay configurations etc. IF you do need more airflow just open the door a bit.
In summertime heat with no aircon i do that when im playing a high end game.

You can take it off if you want or switch which side it open. Thats the great thing about the R5 apart from 2nd to none build quality - options.

Best case on market regardless of $. I went to this case from a $400 lian li. R5 shits on it.

The a.c. in my apt is awesome. I'm going to put my pc on top of a desk basically a foot from the wall so I'm thinking hot air will come out the exhaust so it's best to not install fans on top because the hot air from the exhaust would hit the wall and get pulled back in the top?

no fans on top. If the ambient room temp isnt to hot then 2x 140mm at front will be fine. I have air exhausting via rear fan and PSU (faced up). Even at 35c+ here i was running fine. Just had door open. I have fans on low.

I dont recommend placing fans up top, even exhaust as its just another dust trap. Dust will gather when its off. I have my case on floor and i clean the front dust filter once a month.

R5 PSU mount is on the bottom. and it has more than generous feet so air intake from the bottom is good. I have used Fractal cases for years including the node's as a home media server. easy to work with and spacious more than enough room for multiple GPU's and water cooling. even had room for a closed circuit cpu watercooling at the same time as a R9 295x2 gpu in a fractal r5 case

personally i like to use bequiet fans they are quiet and efficient and look good.

Pull the rear fan out of the case - drop it invas the extra front intake.
You've got 2 matching intakes then.
Use that corsair led fan for the exhaust

Themis evo - $5 more than the evo but 100% worth it.
& just for you its red too.


You need to swap that cx600 out mate, its a weak point in a system like that.

Excellent suggestions, I've been curious of how that psu would perform under load.

Anyone know of a good red led strip?

they are magnetic so can fix to any steel structure and be moved around and very easy to daisy chain.
