Fractal Design R5 Case Fan Configuration

Solution
2X 140mm in the front blowing in, use the stock back fan and add a 140mm in the top back blowing out.
Remove the center drive cage bay.

Should I have a fan on the side panel? Im getting the Silent version with no window.

The best way to to cool a GPU is with a side fan, however, it will increase the noise over a solid side panel with the moduvent in place. Second choice would probably be to remove the center drive bay and put an air flow (versus static pressure) fan blowing on the GPU, but I don't think it would add much if you already had a side fan in place.

Thanks, so i'll see if I can get a silent good looking fan for the side panel then. :)

Remove the center drive cage and you shouldn't need a side fan. this is the first choice with that case not the 2nd.

I will be removing the Drive Cages because I am buying the Enermax Multi Card Reader and HDD Holder I guess you can say. I need the front air flow and the side fan aswell.

The only problem with adding a side fan to this case is the extra noise and the fact that the side vent is not filtered. There may be an aftermarket filter that you can add, though. You may want to hold off on the side fan for now, and try removing the middle drive cage (if you don't need it), and check your temps with the front fan having a straight unobstructed path to the GPU.

If you decide to go with the side fan, perhaps another white GP-14 to keep the same theme, or a black Fractal Venturi HF-14, or Noctua NF-P14s redux:

Is your computer already built? I understand that that card gets hot, but it's a large case with good airflow. I would measure my temps first to make sure that there is a problem before you go out to solve it. Limiting fans to the front and back, if possible, would preserve it's silent features.

Yes it is built. I am basically upgrading it. I will have 2 front fans, 1 fan in the back, and I will buy a magnetic fan filter and put the fan on the side panel.

Well, take some temp measurements before and after, and let us know how it works out :)
