Silencing a PC depends on many factors.
You must pick the silent type on all fans e.g. case fan, proc cooler, GPU fan, etc.
If you did that already, it is recommendable to pick a silent type case too.
I dunno about quiet! Base 600 but I own Fractal Design R4.
Fractal Design R5 should be better than the R4, since it is newer.
My Fractal Design R4 is really good and silent.
Thanks for the reply. So I have said that I am selling my H60 AIO water cooler for something like a dark rock pro 3 and am just looking for a case that has a good silent factor as well as good cooling performance. I am leaning more so towards a R5 but I am still looking for recommendations.
Funnily enough I was trying to decide between Fractal Design R5, BeQuiet 600 or Corsair Obsidian to get quality without too much cost, but also these are designed for air flow and quietness. Initially thinking I could save cost by re-using a case I had had for years, before I moved to laptop as main computer and now back to Desktop, the build requires maximum cooling and noise reduction and the older case had power supply at top and wasn't designed for maximum airflow or have any noise reduction, plus when buying a case the quality ones come with front usb 3.0 sockets and quieter included fans that save on some of the cost but helps along with other components to cut down heat build-up. I alos have a Be Quiet Shadow Rock slim air cooler that has high performance cooling and low noise and performance not far behind lower to mid range radiator coolers, but without cooling noise artefacts and fans, with BeQuiet fans amongst the quietest available. If wanted extra fans would also consider Silent wings fans and these could be added to any case.
One advantage of the BeQuiet is double glazed window panel but the Fractal Design has noise dampening built in as does the BeQuiet and going by the rest of the build it looks like a decent window side panel that may be almost or just as effective and possibly the Fractal Design has some more adaptable design features, but seem to be moving towards Fractal Design R5 or be Quiet 600, both in window versions.
Updated edit, so after much deliberation, have decided on Fractal Design R5, but it was close. The main factors being options between noise reduction and opening up panels for more airflow adding fans, coolers, etc. Nearest Corsair that is also good is the Obsidian 450D or 550D and the R5 is very similar to the 550D but at much lower cost, but as good quality. The BeQuiet also has some neat options and is high quality and very low noise, with top BeQuiet fans included, although the ones included are Pure wings with similar specs to the included Fractal Design ones, and the silent 2 wings are the best, but they could always be added to any of these cases.
Only one problem in deciding on case, is Ive ordered the R5 in Titanium, now wondering if should have gone for white and of course its also good in black, window version in each, but question is whether black, titanium or white!
