I bought a Fractal R5 Case for its silent futures and unfortunately the front side of the case is making strange vibrating noises. It stops if I open the door but then resumes a minute later. I wonder if this is a problem only I am experiencing or its common.

Thank you

Solution
Nope, just you. My R5 is perfectly silent. Check the hinges. That door is designed to be 'rehinged' on the other side. It's a sweet little gimmick that'll let you pick which way the door opens. When the door is open, there's stress on the hinges (gravity) which will dampen vibrations from the intake fan(s). If the hinge is even slightly loose, when you close the door, the hinge is no longer stressed so is now free to vibrate.

Only other option I can think of is when the door is closed, it's not hitting the bumper stops right, so the door itself is on a plastic-plastic meeting with the case.

Either should be a really easy fix.

The case dampens soundwaves generated by internal fans or hdd. That's internal. It's not going to deaden or dampen external sources such as a hinge that's not be tightened correctly or has vibrated loose during shipping or the glue on bumpstop getting tacky in mid Texas summertime heat in a tractor trailer. It's a mass production case that's subject to all the vagaries of shipping and transit. What it's not is hand delivered on a silver platter. It might need some adjustments.
