Hey guys,

I'm going to transfer my system to a Fractal Node 605, and I was wondering if it would fit an H100i as a CPU cooler? There are 2 adjacent 120mm fans above the M/B, so it looks as if it would fit, however, need to factor the thickness of the rad + 2 fans, and make sure if will clear the motherboard slots. Before I go and buy the case I need to know if I'll need to replace my CPU cooler as well.

Thanks

Thanks, bummer, I wasn't looking to actually buy a new cooler though...

Might have to revert back to air cooling in this case. Could you explain why it's not suggested to fit the H100i in the 605?

There's no mounting place for it!

Have you taken a look at the Silverstone GD09 and GD07? Those might be able to fit a H100i, but you would have to check

Yeah I checked that out as well but couldn't actually find someone who managed to do it in the SS.

I could just go old school and get a Noctua NH-U12S instead of the H100i... Should do the job pretty well I guess?

Depends on the CPU and overclock, but yes, that is another option. If you aren't overclocking you can also just use the stock cooler, it's usually the most underrated cooler out there.

I got a 2500K OC'ed to 4.5 so will definitely need a quality aftermarket cooler, I think the U12S will be pretty good as it's performance is pretty on par with the H100i. But regardless, which cooler would you recommend for this case with a 4.5 OC?

Depends on what wattage your CPU needs to dissipate, but in general it's not that much. A 120mm AIO is always a safe bet, though some of the taller noctua flat coolers could work just fine (and quietly)

Not sure if it will fit height wise though. Node 605 Specs says the overall height is 16.4 CM (With the stands I assume) and the U12S is 15.8 CM high, not sure if it will clear the enclosure. On the specs of the 605 it says:

CPU cooler compatibility: Approx 125mm with side-mounted fans - For coolers with top-mounted fans, Fractal Design recommends that you add at least 30 mm clearance for decent airflow

Looks like it needs a cooler which is no higher than 12.5 CM
