Fractal or Be Quiet?

I'm building a new pc but I'm torn between 2 different brands.

I like the looks of the fractal cases but they're too big for my liking. I like the be quiet size but I've read reviews saying fractal is the better brand overall. I want the pc to be as quiet as possible.

I've only got about $180-$200 AUD to spend on a new case, here's my build: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/fCyszM. I still haven't decided on the power supply but it'll be something with 650w.

I would prefer if the colour was black.

Thanks.

I love nearly all of Fractal's cases, and Fractal is most definitely the more mature brand of the two as far as cases go. Define R5 and Meshify C are easily some of the best cases to date.

Ultimately cases don't affect noise TOO much - some are slightly better than others but I doubt it would be enough to sway your choice. Fan vibration is usually what causes most of the noise, and many case fan manufacturers are including vibration dampeners to keep the noise down. So really this is down to personal preference between the two. It is true that Fractal is the more mature brand, but that does NOT mean that Be Quiet cases are bad.

be quiet! cases are excellent, just as nice as Fractal.
Solid construction, nice config options, Silent Wings fans.
I have the Silent Base 800 and it is very quiet and capable but big.
The SB600 is the same chassis but smaller outside and with few options.

The Deep Base 900 & 700 are top rated cases with top rated prices.

I was thinking something like the be quiet! pure base 600 or silent base 800 and the fractal design define r5. I love the design and aesthetics of the define r5 but it's just too bulky for my liking, especially when it has to sit on the floor right next to my legs. The be quite! cases are visually appealing to me, especially the pure base 600(and the price) but I've seen some negative reviews for the cable management side of it.

Man tough call. You can't go wrong either way. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the store reviews, a lot of those complaints are really personal preference.

Did you consider the Silent Base 600?

It's only a little more cost than the pure base 600, but much more value in sound proofing and fans and flexible interior configuration. Pure Base are be quiet's cheap cases, and Silent Base are more heavy duty premium cases.
