Frame counter high but actual frames are low

I'm having this problem in minecraft only which is really bothersome. I have to have at least double the frames that I want to get the actual framerate ex. frame counter 120 actual frames 60

By the sound of it your graphics.card can output 120frames but your monitor isnt showing it. If your monitor displays 60fps then you got a 60hz monitor. Meaning it can refresh 60 frames per second. You should buy a 120hz monitor instead.

I know that but it'll say its running at 60 frames in game and it actually display 30
