[SOLVED] Frame drop after new driver update

After I installed the new driver update for battlefield 5 I started to loose all my frames. Including on my other games that ran fine. I can’t re roll my driver as it won’t let me.

Uninstall the drivers and reinstall them. Since we're flying blind here, mind sharing your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

How old is your PSU? Are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard? Is BF5 the only issue or do you have it running across other gaming titles?

I got a Lenovo legion y720 laptop
So I got a gtx1060

First uninstall the drivers.
Here's a link how to: https://www.nvidia.com/object/IO_13955.html

Then, go here: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us and select your specifications and install the previous drivers.

See if there's any difference. Keep us up to date.

Did you select the previous driver and not the newest one?

Yea that’s my bad I went the new one. I’ll keep it on the old one. Do I need to update it or can I play without updating?

Check if the performance is back to normal with the previous drivers. Then you know if that was the problem.

Yeah you can easily play with the "older" drivers, especially if they give you the best performance. Just wait until new drivers release after the current new drivers and see if they cause a problem as well. If not, keep them. You can always go back (;

Do keep in mind that for some major updates/new game releases you do have to download the newest drivers, otherwise those games won't run at all, because they require the newest update.

Hi, i had similar issue since yesterday then i rolled back my drivers to older version released in nov and fixed my issue, Alhamdrulillah.

i used ddu to remove all my graphics drivers then reinstalled old driver manually from nvdia webdiste.
Geforce is acting weird too

Go to the windows search bar, then, type Device Manager. Click on "Device Manager" and then "Display adapters". Right click on your graphics card, click "Properties" then a Properties window should come up. In that window click "Roll Back Driver". Finally, after you are done rolling back the driver reset your PC. Hope that helped it worked for me.

After updating to a newer driver of my gpi, my fps dropped extensively upto 10-12 fps sometimes and the performance was not stable, now its all fixed as I rolled back to my previous driver!!
