https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-home-office/RUQBSBtvrk/ this is the spec list
however im having major drops on csgo or valorant im around 150 - 200 fps then it suddenly drops to 80 and back up and it happens consistently .
i tried different games such as rocket league and i had a consistent fps of 250 -300 and it never dropped .
i thought of issues that can cause this , i thought of ram but for the games its fine then i went to think of monitor - free sync but that woudnt make sense as for rocket league there arent drops just wonder on how to fix this issue
Specs are the following:

That system GPU is ok but the rest is not too good. Let me explain.

Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 3350G Quad Core CPU with Radeon Graphics (3.6GHz-4.0GHz/6MB CACHE/AM4)

Your CPU is a quad core CPU. Not only that but it's a CPU you buy when you do not have a graphics cards since the CPU is a CPU (G) with an integrated graphics in it. Your CPU in that system should have been at least a 6 cores 12 threads CPU. A Quad Cores CPU is just not recommended anymore.

Memory (RAM)
8GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (1 x 8GB)

You're using 1 sick of RAM which mean you're running the RAM in Single Channel and you only have 8GB of RAM. You need 16GB nowadays. Game can take the entire 8GB and max out your memory and if this happens you...
Unless this is a problem that can be fixed via LAN settings, as I see it mentioned a lot with online games like specifically CSGO and Valorant , I would say your RAM may be at least partly the issue. The "Infinity Fabric" of Ryzen CPUs is very dependent on high RAM speed to function with the least amount of latency. For that reason it is recommended to have at least 3200 speed RAM for Ryzens. Ryzens are quite a bit higher latency than Intel even when paired with such RAM, but without it, extremely high.

You're using 1 sick of RAM which mean you're running the RAM in Single Channel and you only have 8GB of RAM. You need 16GB nowadays. Game can take the entire 8GB and max out your memory and if this happens you will lose performance because of the pagefile being used. Not only that but your RAM is 2400MHz. For a Ryzen system you need at least 3200MHz RAM in the 2 sticks format to use Dual Memory Channel and not Single Memory Channel. So a 2x8GB 3200/3600MHZ would have been recommended in that system. Not 1 stick of 8GB at 2400MHz. That is crippling your system performance.

1st Storage Drive
128GB PCS 2.5" SSD, SATA 6 Gb (500MB/R, 400MB/W)

128GB is very small for an OS drive. Since we don't know which brand and model they added in that system it could be a very bad SSD where you full half of it and it becomes as slow as a normal HDD. A 256GB or 512GB and a decent SSD Model is recommended for an OS drive.

Power Supply
CORSAIR 550W CV SERIES™ CV-550 POWER SUPPLY

A Corsair 550 CV series is an horrible Corsair Model PSU. For a system like this a Corsair CX 650 Watts should be used minimum. Not a low quality PSU model like the CV. You're putting the entire system at risk with this Tier D PSU (Tier D • Recommended only for very cheap, iGPU systems)

No wonder your games are having issues. With a system like this it's not surprising.

Your system would be running so much better with a 2x8GB 3200/3600MHz RAM Kit, 6 Cores 12 threads CPU, Better SSD and larger, better PSU.

What cpu do you recommend

If the system were being used in general for current, intense graphics titles, I would concur, but the games mentioned don't need a 6 or more core CPU. They really don't even need much RAM. For that reason, even going dual channel on RAM would likely have minimal benefit compared to more robust games. However I do agree that a Ryzen needs higher speed RAM to run well at all, for ANY gaming. Otherwise you can get radical framerate fluctuation, with lots of FPS drops.

Take a look at some Valorant 2 cores vs 4 cores vs 6 cores and 8gb vs 16gb youtube videos.. Especially in Single Memory Channel.

I do not recommend any Quad Cores in 2021. It's time the quad core disappears. Not saying you're wrong. Just saying a quad core...+ 1 stick of 8GB of RAM is just not good anymore for a gaming system.

If you're referring to a video titled... "Valorant Test: 2 Cores vs 4 Cores, vs 6 Cores CPU || (C2D E8400. Intel i5 3470, Ryzen R5 1600)" ...I can see why you'd think that, because it is in fact very misleading. I mean seriously, an E8400 is ancient tech to compare to even a R5 1600, and Ryzen's first gen was nothing to rave about either. This is no doubt why the video author refused to allow embedding or linking of said video. Yep, there's lots of meaningless videos on YT for sure.

So are you also saying i should get a better cpu or am i reading this incorrectly

Quad Core CPU. Single Channel Memory 1 stick of 8GB. Horrible PSU.

There is no argument here. That system could have been sold 6 years ago. Without the GPU of course.

Yet all of that spec is well within both CSGO and Valorant requirements, something you've yet to acknowledge. I'm here to help, not mislead, not sure about you. Maybe get focused on the games being played, and their actual hardware reqs.

Just first try getting at least 3200 speed RAM. If you plan on playing any other games that might be more demanding, go for a 2x8GB dual channel kit (2 8GB sticks). 16GB isn't needed for CSGO and Valorant, but will help in other cases. So you want to entirely swap out the 2400 RAM. It's NEVER good to mix speeds, as the system will default to the lower speed RAM.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to get a faster CPU as well should you ever play more demanding games if you can afford it.

So i should get new ram sticks will do

Like Frag Maniac said if you only play Valorant and CSGO then only buy a 2x8GB 3200MHz CL16 RAM Kit.

If you intend to play more games in the future like Cyberpunk, Warzone I would think about replacing the CPU.

I was not trying to mislead anyone. I'm the type of person that thinks about the future. If you just bought that system I would think you'd want the CPU to last you for a few years where you can play the games that gets released. With that Quad Core CPU you're not helping yourself.

That's the only thing I was trying to convey. Quad Core CPU are ok for some stuff but nowadays they are gonna go extinct soon even if they are still usable for some stuff. It's just not recommended anymore. No one in this forum will recommend a Quad Core on their "Take a look at this build" recommendation.

alright hopefully this will fix the insane decrease of fps it depreciates from 150 - 200 to 60 and back consistently thanks for the help ill update you soon

Like I said, the RAM is the first step I would take. Either kit above would do fine, but make sure your MB has it on it's QVL (Qualified Vendor List), which means they've tested it to work fine on your model of MB. Kingston RAM (HyperX) almost always works on any MB though.

Definitely agree! You should never have single channel. If I had the choice between 16 gig in a single stick (single channel) or 8 gigs in a 2 sticks of 4 Gig configuration (therefore dual channel),I'd go with the 2 sticks of 4 Gig. It makes that much of a difference.

Heya ive bought the ram above and put it in and it hasnt made much of a difference im still fluctuating from 150 to 10 0 to 60 could this be a storage issue because im not sure

it hasnt made much difference im still dropping frames for no reason any ways to fix may this be a storage issue cpu issue
