I have tried to record for youtube but i have had many problems with frame rate loss. I have great fps at first before recording, but then then I start recording it drops massively and lags the video. I have also checked and I have updated all my drivers. Also I have anti-malwarebytes, so malware and viruses arent a problem. And I use Avast for my web virus problems. I have also used a variety of different recording softwares like, fraps, Dxtory, litecam, Action!, and OBS.

Here are my PC specs:

Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 970

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processer

Motherboard: Asus M5 A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard

Ram: 8GB Duel-Channel DDR3 668MHz

Thank you everyone,
Andrew

Solution
Not enough/too slow ram.

Recording is Ram intensive.

It could be your hard drive as well, ideally you want a hard drive dedicated for the recordings, not being used to run software.

You may also want to use Task Manager to manually assign core affinity for the games and recording software, so they aren't trying to use the same CPU cores.

It also depends what game you're trying to record, not all of them play fair.

I will try to look in task manager and manually assign core affinity, but I have tried many games and all of them have this problem. I will get back to you in this thread if it works, or if it doesn't work. Thank you for the help! Also, would having an SSD vs. an HDD Hard drive make a huge difference in my fps problem?

SSD vs HDD: not really. You just need a dedicated drive for the recordings, one that isn't . a 128 GB ssd is the same price as a 1 TB HDD, and video files are huge.

And maybe you just need to get OBS setup right:

You can try OBS since it's free:

And here's how to set it up for local recordings, start at the recommended crf 15, and lower it for higher quality and higher file size recordings.

And to set it up for twitch:
