Hello all,

I was on BF3 and Black Ops 2 when i noticed a frame rate drop. For BO2, i used to run 125fps consistantly in all games, now it drops down to 90 and back up when rendering further distances.

The clock is at stock (960/1430 mhz). And for the CPU it is @ stock too.

CPU temperature hitting around 60 when gaming and for the GPU, around 55.

Anyone can explain the problem to me?

Thanks a lot. ;)

I am using the latest 12.11 CCC Driver. Could it be by any chance that the GPU is damaged? That is the most priciest part :|

EDIT: Guys please help, it has dropped to 80 ~ 90 when rendering further distances, it used to be 125 capped.

You really should be using Vsync to cap your FPS to 60, It will put far less stress on your card(giving it a slightly longer life) and give you more consistent frame rates, as well as keep temperatures down. There is no advantage of having your GPU output more frames than your monitor can display.

You are basing your argument on a comment from some random person, with no facts backing it? Could you give some real proof?

I can notice the difference myself, between 60 FPS (v-sync) and somewhere in the 200-300 FPS range in CSS. It does give a slight advantage, but yeah, it's not a huge difference.

I did a check last night with BF3 (metro only - may try others later). Adaptive vsync on (ultra - 60fps-ish), vsync off (ultra - 80fps-ish), vsync off (low - 130fps-ish) and I could't tell a difference in smoothness/responsiveness and I didn't see any tearing.

Then again, I have shoddy eyesight. That's good tho right? Don't have to have as nice a setup to be satisfied.
