Frame rate drops in games

I have a really good computer. The most frustrating thing to me is knowing my computer can run something, but it doesn't run the way i know it can. My build is
CPU- i7 6700k
Ram- 32GB vengeance
Mobo- gigabyte gaming 7
GPU- dual GTX 1080s SLI

I frequently play rocket league and always have a constant 144hz in game. All of a sudden one day, my frame rate would fluctuate between 144 and 110 in game and it was very distracting. I have tried almost everything besides reinstalling windows and I cannot find a fix. Help me out please

There is nothing wrong with your system. You are out of your mind if you think games will always maintain 144 FPS on it. No system is capable of that. If you find fluctuations from 144 to 110 FPS to be distracting, play at 100hz and lock the FPS there.

Btw, what is your resolution? If you are not at 4K, you'll often find your GPU's usage will be low. You'll also find it is the CPU which will always hold you back if you aren't on 4K.

If you are worried about your system, run 3Dmark Time Spy benchmark and post a link to it (not a screenshot, but the link to the results).

Rocket league is not a demanding game at all. My system would maintain a constant 144 in rocket league with the occasional drop to 143. Never fluctuate between the two. Also all the maps would run at a constant 144 but the one snow map would fluctuate between 144 and 60. I know games won't always run at 144 constant but rocket league especially on my system does, or did.

You should start by running benchmarks. 3dmark Time Spy isn't a bad one, which tests the GPU and CPU. Post a link to the web page of the results.
