Hi, when I'm gaming my PC randomly suffers frame rate drops.
Its extremely annoying when I'm playing FPS, I noticed it while playing Bioshock Infinite where i had about 40-50fps and it freezes then drops to 6 fps for a few seconds. If anybody knows anything that would be a great help.
My PC specs
AMD FX-8320 6-core (2 disabled)
ASUS M5A78L-M LX V2
G.Skill Ripjaws X 4GB 1333MHz
PNY Geforce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 2GB
Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Solution
Frame rate drops are usually CPU problems, and since the 8320 isn't able to get full power it needs from that motherboard, it's probably not able to perform as it should. Have you checked your RAM usage as well during gameplay?

yeah ive checked that ind its only ever using 3gb and leaving 1 gb free but surely having 2 cores disabled on the cpu should combat the power issue

I have been doing some monitoring Using GPU-Z and when ever the frame rate drops the core clock and memory clock drops for about 5 seconds. The card has no OC and while playing uses 1779MB maximum of the video memory, I play on a 1080p res with a 1440x900 second monitor. I have a AKASA Cobra 650W modular PSU
