I recently got a few new pieces of hardware, and continued to use Windows 8 until recently, when I made the switch to 10.

I added a GTX 1080 FE, i7 6800k, ASUS Strix x99 mobo.

I only posted here because I believe it's related to the OS. When I am watching a video on my right monitor, I see a lot of frame rate drops gaming on the left. For instance, I like to game and watch the Cubs play if they are. Games now become a little choppy, and frame rate dips by I would guess 20%, maybe more a times. My main monitor is a ASUS PG279Q, my other monitor is Benq GL2760H. Would the difference in refresh rates cause this? Or am I correct in assuming it's an issue with Windows 10, as I never had this issue in Windows 8, even with this hardware.

If the game you are playing is online then it could be your internet connection because you will be using more bandwidth because of the streaming. If this is the case then you can try playing a game that is not online and test if it happens then.

I never saw the problem with Windows 8 though, I also thought of the same thing. I have 1GB dow, so that shouldn't be an issue. Maybe it's just part of the Windows 10 make up, I'm not sure. It's annoying though. Lol.

I'm having the exact same issue using Windows 10 with NVIDIA GeForce GT740. Perfect frame rate on both monitors when on Windows 8.1. Now, whichever monitor does not have focus gets major frame rate reduction. It's certainly not a bandwidth issue (Google Fiber, and never had the issue on Windows 8).
