I finally got fed up with website popups and load XP Service Pack 2. It was
going quite nicely. Faster boot times and no more popups. Then I played
HL2. It seems I've lost performance. Does SP2 reduce frame rates?

Firefox is a much simpler option, and with the Adblock extension,
infinitely better.

DaveL, I noticed no slow down after SP2. You may want to do the usual
things like reloading your mobo drivers, DX9c and gaphics drivers just
in case MS overwrote something in those (most likely DX) Shaun
