Hello everyone,
I just wanna start off by saying I am not a computer genius, definitely when it comes to parts and performance issues but I will try and explain this issue to the best of abilities. I bought a pre built gaming computer less than 6 months ago(I will leave a link to it below) and it is a pretty solid gaming rig,. It plays games on high to ultra settings like BF3, BF4, and Tomb Raider, BioShock infinite, ..etc very well, and being my first actual gaming rig I think its great. When I bought this system I didn't pay attention to a few things I had no idea would effect the computer but now I am super worried that they may have destroyed it. I should have built my own but I had no knowledge of building rigs D;
Anyway everything was playing smooth for a few months, but for the past 2 months everything has been going downhill. I keep getting this frame stutter/skip every 30-60 seconds and its about a second to 3 seconds long and it really effects my gaming definitely when I am in beast mode trying to snipe or aim. The thing is my computer plays all these games on near max settings with about 80-100 frames while on full load but when these frame skips happen it will drop a few frames while still above 80 frames yet i notice this little freeze. For example I will be in a firefight on BF4 and I am aiming and it freezes for a second really screwing up whatever I was trying to do, it only drops from 100-94 fps. It's like the computer is being held back by something like something is interrupting or lacking.
The things about this rig that I was concerned about is that it has a GTX 7702gb yet the PSU is only 500w when it requires 550 at minimum. Another concern is it has no case fan, although the temps are always under max temp by 20c could it possibly be a problem? my GPU can hit 80c and my CPU can hit 65c on full load. Some people told me that's not an issue so I never worried about it. Now that I asked some friends they told me that my PC parts have probably been cooking and the lack of a powerful enough psu probably destroyed my system. They also said it could be a virus but I don't wanna format my PC and lose everything I have and it ends up being a hardware problem. Ram is never maxed nor is CPU. on my task manager they never spike but using in game graphics they spike like hell. My PC does seem like it's gotten allot louder, I have not opened it for months but I don't remember really considering I had it further away from me. I am really bummed about this and when I bought this PC I though I ordered a warranty but I guess I must not have added it so I am well over the 30 days return and I don't know what to do.
Did I burn my GPU out? Do I need to get a better power supply? or am I just screwed?
I am deeply sorry for the extremely long post but if anyone could offer some advice or let me know honestly that I fucked my PC up from the sound of it.. please let me know. I am so confused.
Basic specs:
i7 4770 @ 3.4Ghz
2x4gb DDR3 1600Mhz ram
Standard Nvidia GTX 7702gb
