Framerate gets halved if my PC stays on too long

OS: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970
Driver: 362.00 (clean installed)
Other system specs: Intel Core i5 2500k, 2x4GB DDR3 RAM, Corsair GS600 PSU

Guys, i get low framerate in games(40avg instead of 80 in Dying Light the following,15 fps instead of 30(entrance) in WWE2K16) if i run them after 12-13 hrs. Everything becomes normal if I restart the PC.

In nvidia control panel, Vsync is disabled, power management mode is set to "prefer maximum performance".

Driver issues? I bought this card only 3 days ago. 🙁

Checked on google, lots of people with gtx 970 have this same issue.

Solution

That's about half the max, which means there's seriously wrong causing throttling.

Try updating to 362.51 while you're at it
Am I reading you correctly that you're playing games 12-13 hours straight? If it's not temps, it might be a memory leak. Check Task Manager (CTRL-ALT-ESC) and look at your CPU and RAM usage after playing for several hours.

Wow, I did not catch that!

+1 to the above, and lets add that you need to take a break man...
