Framerate trouble with every game.

I've just built a new gaming PC with the following specs:

  Windows 10 Pro (64)
  Intel Core i5-6600K
  AMD Radeon RX-480
  500GB Samsung SSD
  16GB G.Skill RAM
  Corsair H100i v2 Liquid Cooling
  Asus z170i Pro Gaming Motherboard
  EVGA Supernova P2 80+ Platinum

However, when I launch seemingly any game I will get unheard of amounts of lag.
Even on the lowest graphics settings I still get sub 15 FPS.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this.

Are you connected to your GPU, or to the ports on the motherboard? Sounds like you're using the iGPU of the 6600K which would result in those numbers.

Ensure you're actually connected to the RX480.

Have you installed your drivers?

I have the monitor connected to the DVI port on the GPU and I've installed the driver twice now.

did you have an NVidia driver prior? did you do a clean install of windows? software gremlins can be just as responsible as hardware gremlins.

if you can rule all that out I might rma the card. that just doesn't seem right. being in the 30's and 20's can happen, but not sub15.

I had to uninstall the driver completely and then reinstall, for some reason it didn't accept that the most recent driver was valid.
