Fraps records Minecraft only at 95 FPS?

This is something that had bugged me for a long time, fraps only records my Minecraft gameplay at about 95 FPS, when not recording I get 255 FPS. I know there will be a frame drop, but why does it go all the way down to lock at 95? I have it set on fraps to record at 144, and DXTory is not the solution b/c that sucks with Minecraft. I've seen others that have lower tier PC parts than mine and they are getting 120+ FPS while recording.

Also, if you have an Nvidia card, recently they introduced the ability for the GPU to handle recording as well. I know Overwolf's Replay HUD and Open Broadcaster (OBS) can use this, though I've had better luck with Overwolf doing the 30 second replays versus OBS (which seems to corrupt every other video). Even if you do not have an Nvidia card, OBS is pretty much the best way to go. Plus you can have the video files be MUCH smaller, which is the primary reason I no longer use FRAPS, the other being that it hasn't been updated since 2013!

60 FPS is laggy, like 20 FPS since I use a dual display port cable. With my HDMI 60 FPS was smooth, but now with my dual display port cable and 144HZ monitor, 60 FPS is bad to play at with Minecraft.
