Freaky ingame graphics

Hello, i have an ATI radeon X600 uguru pro 256mb graphics card (i have very old desktop bought it for 10bucks few days ago 😀 Pentium4 3,2 ghz 1gb ram 80gb hdd)
And i have very strange things in games freaky graphics i tryed counter strike 1,6 it runs smoothly but world of warcraft has a strange graphics issue, its freaking me out 😀 see in picture, how to repair this thing? any ideas?

Seriously though, that's retardedly old... No point trying to fix it, honestly, probably can't since the graphic card is like 7 years old according to google...
 
If you only spent $10, honestly you didn't lose much. Maybe try to save the case and do some cheap upgrades? If that GPU is as old as it Reveliti says it is, its had a good run.
Technology has jumped leaps and bounds compared to 7 years ago. You could spend $20-30 on a new GPU that would probably beat the one in that system.
 

i need fix this PC somehow 😀 because for a while i dont have anymore PC's,so it is temporary pc 😀 So look what was with that GPU 😀
 
Judging from the solid gunk you seemed to have it does look like overheating. Now comes the question did the cleaning and fan mod fix it or not?

many times just cleaning is enough as long as damage has not happened.
 
it didnt helped 😀 same thing as in first post 😀 and fan old fan's motor was rusty 😀 and i even couldnt spin old fan with fingers 😀 so i leaned fan from old AGP nVidia GeForce FX 5200 😀
 
The problem with just setting a fan on another fan is that the heat sink doesn't get cool. The is supposed to directly cool the pipes by pulling air, not just pull air away from it. You could just get a new card, but i don't know the kind of slots on the motherboard. Could we get a picture of the MB to or just specs of it?
 
In this case, fan on heatsink should be perfect(force air past the heatsink. I think the old fan is out since it had failed.). I think it may be damaged already from heat.

With such a small heatsink. It was not a very high heat card, but once the fan stops working, things heat up fast.

Well, the card looks to be this.(I link this just because your images are a bit hard to see, but the contacts look like straight lines, while agp was different)

That is a PCI-E. almost all current cards are PCI-E. Now PCI-E cards from different generations are designed with backwards compatibility in mind, sometimes it may cause issues. If you are looking for a card, just look for an older second hand card.

I do not think it is worth putting a NEW card in the system.
 

well if you click on image it increases 😀 and i need just similar gpu because i dont need a PC for gaming, i just play wow and cs 1.6, but for gaming i have notebook Dell Inspiron n5120, but i dont have it at this moment because my father took it to use while hes driving a truck over europe 😀 Desktop is temporary 😀
 
Well, I personally had a 4350 in my media center and that is the intended purpose. It does not game well at all, but compared to the X600 it should be ok.

Toms places it 2 tiers above the fastest X600 cards(the XT)

Power consumption should also not be an issue with the 4350 as it takes almost none.

Again. for some temporary use or media use it is ok, but newer games would need the lowest settings and resolutions. CS 1.6 should have fun still :)

Please uninstall the ATI/AMD drivers for the video card before removing the old ones and have the new ones ready to go(download from AMD.com).
 

thanks for advice, emm another question, kind a silly one 😀 which ddr type gpu i can put in? 😀 cuz in gpu descriptions is ddr3 ddr2 😀 and i saw even agp slot ATI Radeon HD 4650 😀 the gpu what i see is--> Gainward GeForce 8400GS, 1GB DDR3 (64 Bit) 34$ cost i had this one in my old notebook acer aspire 5520g ant it ran Skyrim on rez 800x600 with medium graphics 😀 in window mode 😀 but that gpu had 128mb dedicated 😀
 
and about the cpu can i put intel core dui int it? secket looks pretty weird it has pins not CPU but pins are going from socket 😀 😀 WTF is this?
 
Ok...

the DDR or GDDR memory will be uneffected by your system. but faster is always better.

The 4350 and 4550 are the same card on just has faster memeory.


You can NOT use AGP in a PCI-E slot.

the 640 is WAY faster then a 4350. It also takes more power, but peaks out at under 50 watts and averages in the 30s with most games.

Your socket is actually an LGA(land grid array). The pins are a part of the board and VERY delicate. Your ability to swap to a newer cpu is 100% dependent on the board/chipset and bios. Not all LGA 775 boards will take a Core2 duo chip.
 

so thats how it is 😀 so i can amoust put any processor which is mentioned here? http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket%20775%20(LGA775).html my psu is 400watt then if if ill upgrade with core 2 duo and nvidia 640 i think it can hold it and 2more gigs of RAM 😀 😀

I agree with what has been said above, that's some old kit and atleast $10 won't be too much of a loss should it need replacing. A graphical overheat does sound likely, however I did a few years ago discover some strange graphical issues on World Of Warcraft like you seem to be, and you did say you don't receive the issue on CS, though it's most likely pushing your GPU less hard.

My issue was fixed by re-installing the game, but it looks like you're going to need some new kit!

This doesn't seem entirely relevant now, but I just thought I'd share with you some similar graphical issues I have had and how they were fixed for me. Can you test other games to see if it's just that one?

Also, yep anything that fits in an LGA775 should fit your motherboard, without worrying about power consumption etc. However the Xeon's mentioned there are designed for servers, but are usually found quite cheap so make sure you don't pick up one of those
