malwarebytes would be my recommendation over adaware. and no,they wouldnt create a conflict. avast is an antivirus program and adaware is as the name suggests an adware removal program.malwarebytes will remove anything adaware can and then some.
Avast Free, AVG free 2 quick ones off the top of my head...malwarebytes as well, just remember its usually much easier to reformat and start fresh than to hope you got your pc cleaned up.
its a pain to format and reinstall.get another hdd and clone your main drive to it.then you always have a full backup including os,files, everything.acronis true image for wd or macrium reflect.both programs are free.that aside it is absolutely necessary to have a good virus program.avast is pretty much the top rated free av and is better than a lot of paid versions.
should i get him BOTH avast and ad-aware? will they conflict? What bout firewall? spyware?
They wont conflict with each other, just make sure to run stuff like malwarebytes in safe mode. As far as firewall as long as your windows is up to date and you keep the windows firewall on you should be okay.
