I can Get Win2k server for free, or win XP for free....which should i get?

I found out my dad's free advice was worth half what I paid for it. -Justin

What version of XP, home or pro? Also, what are you planning to do with the PC? If your gamming, I'd go with a XP version (as much as I hate it). If you don't have any major plans, go for W2K Server, because it costs more and has other bennies like software RAID and IIS (not that I'd use IIS for anything but intranet, again - my opinion).

Heh, I wouldn't even use IIS for intranet serving. Well, the ftp service is pretty solid. Won't touch the web service though, Apache is it, for me.

I run 2K advanced server as my desktop OS. Although I do no serving from it, nor use RAID. It was just more stable than 2K pro on this computer for some reason.
