free operating system?

hello people i am buying a computer from online but with no operating system and i really do not want to spend 139 dollars on it is there any way i can get it for free?

^ What this guy said, most of Linux OS are free and they come in all flavors, you can check Elementary OS (Linux), they just got a new update and it looks something like Mac OS + it works great!
Free Windows? Only if you work in a nice company where they have plenty of them or you're a student in IT or something related.

Debian, Ubuntu are the most widely used ones (besides RedHat, Oracle and other corporate solutions), Ubuntu comes with different GUIs, look for Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Kubuntu, Have worked with both Ubuntu and Debian, by far Debian was pretty nice and clean but it is possible to change the GUI for all of them because a lot of people have different preferences and needs.

For the OS GUI look for XFCE, GNOME, KDE, etc....
