Free space decreasing on C drive

I recently got a Samsung 970 EVO 250GB SSD for my Lenovo Y520-15IKBN laptop. I decided to do a clean install of Windows 10 pro on the SSD, making it the boot drive. I also have a 1TB SSD for sotrage. After installing everything that I needed, I had about 160GB of free space left. (Only a few apps are installed on the C drive like java, chrome, etc). After playing F1 2018 for about 2 hours, the free space went down to 159GB. It is a cracked game, installed on the HDD.
Why does this happen? The only thing I could think of is chrome, as I installed it on the SSD, but i didn't use the browser much lately.

1. A 1GB difference is trivial.

2. A cracked game could be doing anything. Mining int he background, keylogger, all sorts of malware.
And Tom's Hardware does not assist with pirated software, at all. None, nada...
