Solution

1. open is sort of protocol. the choices will be limited.
2. and yes, well, they do say nothing is for free. i do use freebies but they're ususally proxies and have no encryption. still, they have their use and are decent to unblock sites if you're okay with the ads and like you said, registering. though if you're looking for encryption, you might not find it with a proxy.
3. registering is pretty common and some of the freebies like hss and hma are known so while they might annoy...
If you just need VPN and nothing crazy like proxies for downloading etc...

Opera browser has a free built in VPN option. just turn it on in the options and it will enable the VPN button for use.

Now if you need proxies and all that fun stuff. That is a whole another story.

yes! opera vpn was perfect but it doesnt support PPAPI and also leaks IP too

any other?

Well now you are asking for premium VPN features for free...

You will not find one that is reliable and gives you all those features for free without any hassles. This is how VPN companies make money. Cyberghost has a free VPN but it sometimes wont let you connect stating "to many users are using this server, upgrade now" etc... and has a 3 hour window of use.

I subbed to Cracked and saw they have very cheap lifetime deals for VPNs. I wish I knew that before I bought a year sub to Cyberghost. My one year Cyberghost sub costs are much as a lifetime sub to any of those VPNs.

Of course you need to research the VPN to make sure it has the protections you want. But I know for a fact some on their do as I researched a couple myself. I forgot the names it was about a 6 months ago and for now I'm sticking with Cyberghost.

4. something not from US? that's usually because of the prevalent laws but anyways, there are multitude of options here. you can go for ivacy, which is Singapore-based (as per their website) and has servers in Singapore (ofc) as well as the USA. check out their USA page
