Freecell for windows 7

MS in their wisdom eliminated freecell from windows 7,
Is there a way that this game can be downloaded?

To get all the 'usual' MS games back where they're easy to get too...
Type Start Menu into the search bar, choose Customize the Start Menu
On the Start Menu tab chose Customize. Find Games and check the button that says Show as Link.

Yes I am using windows 7 Professional.
I followed your instructions.
Up to "Display as link"everything is okay.
After that nothing happens
The tricks on the video clip are fine.However if you cannot play the game are no good
I am looking to download the VISTA version of freecell

Is this a computer that's part of a corporate network? It's very common for the system administrators to disable games on company machines - if they've done this then you won't be able to enable it.

No it is not.
In fact I have 2 computers one at home and one at my office,
I am the administrator on both and I have not disabled any games.
They both have windows 7 professional as OS.
However freecell cannot be accessed in either of the two.
I am positive MS deleted this game from W7 this is why I am asking for help if it is possible to download the game

Try this;
In the Start Menu search window type in - Programs and click on the Programs and Features icon in the Control Panel category.
Then click on Turn Windows features on or off. Place a check mark next to Games and click OK.

Microsoft did NOT delete the game from Windows 7. I did a default install and it's on my system. For some reason the feature must have been removed from your system.

You should be able to turn it back on again following the instructions below, which depend on "Control Panel" being configured as a sub-menu of the "Start" menu:

Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features

Click the "Turn Windows features on or off" link in the left pane

Find the "Games" feature and click it so that it's checkmarked, then click "OK".


If "Control Panel" is NOT a submenu of the start menu, then you can set it that way by doing this:

Right-click "Start", select "Properties"

Click the "Start Menu" tab

Click the "Customize..." button

Scroll down to "Control Panel" and select the "Display as a menu" option.
