[SOLVED] Freenas problem

The installation of my Freenas keeps coming up as http://0.0.0.0 which means something is wrong and no matter what I do, my Windows installation doesn't recognise the address if I configure the address to be static

The motherboard I am using is Aorus B450 I AORUS PRO WIFI Socket AM4

This has a wifi integrated into the motherboard, so I can't really take it out. I need to find a way to disconnect the wifi so the installation only recognises the ethernet connection, of which it isn't doing, hence the http://0.0.0.0

You should be able to disable the WIFI in the BIOS.

Yep, this is what I would do too. Too bad it's tough to find.

First of all, you are on the wrong forum. FreeNAS has its own forums, but better yet, fairly prompt tech support. You should be talking with them, not us.

I cannot imagine what you mean by the phrase 'coming up as http://0.0.0.0'. I assume you mean that the FreeNAS box has IP address 0.0.0.0, which you are correct is not a valid IP address, and you cannot log into it from Windows. FreeNAS has its own GUI. Why don't you have a monitor and keyboard attached to the FreeNAS box and talk to it directly? If you do that, you can easily make its IP address anything you want.

I have a spare USB port and a USB to Ethernet adapter, which was cheap and foolproof. I use the USB to Ethernet whenever I have an Ethernet problem. I can only suggest you do the same because it always works, and it is not costly. But you will not get far as long as the FreeNAS box has IP address 0.0.0.0.

I do know this and I do have a keyboard and monitor attached the FreeNas setup, that is why I know I get http://0.0.0.0

How else do you think I get that kind of information?

Solved it, the IP from my computer is supposed to be manual, not auto
