hey, recently I got a new pc and monitor(s24f350fh). when I play games in a frame rate higher than 60, I have major screen tearing. vsync eliminates the screen tearing, but then what's the point in a freesync monitor ? my graphics card is rx 460. drivers are up to date, and freesync is enabled in the monitor and amd's settings. is there a solution to this problem? thanks for anyone willing to help.

I had a similar problem when i got my first free sync monitor i couldn't get it to work at first.

*You can use FRTC on AMD Settings and cap your fps to 58 and free sync should work fine but it introduces a bit of input lag.
*Use Rivatuner and cap to 58 does not introduce input lag but can break free sync for some games at least in my experience with the newer versions.
*Disable vsync in game and enjoy buttery smooth fps.
*Download the free sync demo to check if its working properly. If free sync is enabled and you disabled vsync and you still get tearing or it kinda stutters. Reinstall drivers and use DDU.

When vsync is enabled with free sync it does not impact fps as not having a non free sync display. You still get the input lag from vsync but its greatly reduced. So in your case since your gaming at 60hz your delay is around 16-17ms and get input lag without free sync. With free sync + Vsync you still get 16-17ms but stutters and frame hitching and jerkiness from vsync is eliminated and input lag is reduced a bit. But AMD designed it for it to be used with vsync off.

Hope it helps.
