Question Freesync flicker

Hi! I recently bought the https://www.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-MAG271CQP/Specification and I love it, except for 1 issue I can't seem to fix.

Using Freesync causes alot of brightness flicker\pulsing. Even within the 48-144 range.

Anyone got any idea on how to handle this? I use a GTX 1080ti btw and have a second 144hz monitor hooked up through dvi.

You should use a Display Port cable with the Nvidia and Freesync.

Also keep in mind, not all free-sync monitors will work correctly with Adaptive Sync.

Another thing is make sure in the Nvidia Control panels settings for Gsync/Adaptive Sync have it set to Full Screen only and not windowed mode.

My second monitor has DVI, my main is ofcourse using a DP 1.2

I can set it to exclusively Full Screen or Fullscreen + Windowed. Both modes produce heavy pulsing

How are you not getting this.

My main monitor, the https://www.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-MAG271CQP/Specification HAS A DP 1.2 CABEL.

it is my SECOND monitor that is using the dvi

Adding to that, even if I disable my 2nd monitor alltogether it still happens, nothing changes.

Well, that's the thing about Freesync and Nvidia. Not every monitor will work.

It does work tho. If i can eliminate the brightness pulsing it will be flawless

I would think the brightness pulsing is an indication it's not working properly.

Without a doubt. But it does work, i can feel the effect of freesync WORKING.
So it works, but it produces the pulsing\flickers ASWELL.

So if anyone has any idea on HOW to do that, please help me.
Otherwise I have to return it and try my luck on another monitor

I have the same problem and with all my details, it seems no one can able to help me. I'm so frustrated with this problem.

Just made an account to give you some beta.

I've been trying to fix this for a few days and just got it to work by going into NVIDIA X Server Setting and disabling "Allow Flipping" in OpenGL Settings tab.

I'm running MX Linux and my hardware is different (dell s2719dgf and GTX 1650 Super) so it might work for you or it might not. Good luck!
