Freesync Monitor With Nvidia GPU

So I just bought a Acer XG270HU Freesync Monitor However I'm using a GTX980. Will the monitor work at 144Hz using DVI at full resolution?, I'm not using Vsync on the main games I play, Only On GTA, will this monitor effect my gameplay ?

You wont have Freesync/G-sync but you will still get all other benefits of the monitor.

Yes, just the adaptive refreshes to eliminate tearing or stuttering wont work.
