Hi, hardware enthusiasts!

I don't even have amd, but I'm curious. The only g sync monitor I can find is 144hz asus rog swift so I don't even bother to ask about that haha. However, I've seen monitors with freesync and different hz, so this doubt is really bothering me. If freesync is the same as g sync for amd, does it matter if you buy a 75hz or a 144hz monitor with the technology since the gpu and monitor's fps will always be sincronized?

G-Sync goes up to 144Hz if I am not mistaken.

I've ran my monitor, an Asus MG279Q 1440p, with Freesync on and off. I rarely noticed a difference. I finally settled at a refresh of 90 and locked it there.
I set my frame rate target to 90 also, no need to render extra frames. I almost always keep it pegged, I'll occasionally notice a momentary dip in the FPS but it doesn't have any impact on the game whatsoever.

I'm pushing my monitor with a MSI R9-390X GPU.
