FreeSync or GSync?

I have a OMEN 870-213W with a Nvidia 1070 GPU. I am wanting to upgrade monitors as what I have now is outdated. I would like 4K but that is not a MUST at this point. How detrimental to performance is it to match a freesync up with a Nvidia GPU? Is it bad enough to where i should only buy a Gsync without question? I am also thinking of a getting a curved monitor. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

what is your major usage? If gaming, what kind of games?
freesync only works with AMD GPU, G-sync is Geforce equivalent, which aims for dynamic refreshing rate to eliminate stuttering. Geforce GPU + freesync monitor is just like a regular monitor once freesync is turned off. You can still use vsync to help reducing stuttering but worse than gsync. Budget on monitor? size?

There's no impact to performance using an Nvidia card with a freesync monitor, you just can't take advantage of the adaptive sync in that case.

Right now I am only playing POE on PC. My PC is primarily for games. I do no video editing or anything like that. I really am leaning towards a curved monitor. Anything that is really framerate intensive like FPS and sports games I play on my xbox one x
