Freesync smooth above refresh rate.

I have an r9 290 tri-x. I hear people saying freesync is only effective below the refresh rate of monitor but when i go above it it still remains without tearing. I think its amd enchanced sync but it doesnt make sense because it isnt supported on r9 290 cards.

It is likely tearing you just cant notice it. What refresh rate is your monitor?

AMD enhanced sync seems to be the same as AMD fast sync from a quick search. If that is the case that will only eliminate tearing if your framerate in game is quite bit higher than the refresh rate of your monitor.

There is no tearing i am sure. I am very sensitive to framerate and refresh rates so i would notice. But thats interesting. Thanks.
