Hello,

On the market for possibly getting a freesync monitor. Especiallly looking at one that goes all the way down to 30hz. But my question is, if I were to use a frame limiter, such as RivaTuner or Dxtory, to limit the fps to say... 40 on a freesync panel, would the freesync technology "vsync" to 40fps, or would there be a perceived stutter? Anyone tried anything like this yet? Trying to find a solution for not being able to hit 60fps in unoptimized games but still having a consistent experience without tearing.

Thanks

You can, but the tools in Crimson are probably preferable to the 3rd party solutions.

You may not find yourself needing this though......'locking in' low doesn't necessarily improve the experience. As long as you're bouncing in the sync range (of course higher is better), you don't really notice like you would without adaptive sync.
