Hey guys, the Tom's Hardware community has always been there to help me and I'm coming back for help once again.
So i built a new computer, no big deal, built many in the past but this time its acting very odd and its infuriating because this is my personal build that I've been saving up for over a year.
So here are the specs:
-i7 6700k (running at stock 4.0ghz)
-AsRock z170 Extreme 7+
-16gb Corsair Vengeance lpx ddr4 3000 mem (running at 2133 because i havent enabled xmp because i've been trying to resolve this issue first).
-EVGA Titan X superclocked
-Samsung 850 pro 512gb (boot)
-WD Black 1tb (storage)
-EVGA G2 750 watt power supply
Here's the issue:
The computer runs fine until I start installing drivers, so far these are the only drivers I've installed so far.
-Nvidia Display Driver
-Intel LAN
-Intel chipset
-Windows 3.0 adaptor driver
-Rapid storage Driver (Intel)
-management engine
-Logitech gaming driver
-Corsair CUE driver
(last two were uninstalled recently to see if that would make a difference)
A little bit into installing drivers the computer will freeze, and I have to restart and it will freeze a little bit after starting up. I have noticed that in safe mode there are no issues.
From the previous information I figured out that it has to be a driver issue so here's what I tried.
-Reseating CPU and cooler
-Reinstalling OS (tried both 10 and 8.1 pro and corresponding drivers for each, no dice)
-Uninstalling VGA driver (no dice, freezes even faster)
Any ideas on what I should do?
PS - I tried installing the corsair link software for my cooler and I found out that was causing the issue before but I don't have it installed on this go of windows, so what could be the issue? Also whenever I use a windows installer (.msi) it will crash mid install. This also happened for the logitech gaming software mid install, when it was attempting to install the driver. Any thoughts?
Any help would be much appreciated guys, and thanks in advance!
NEW UPDATE: While installing logitech software i got a BSODL WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR
Quick edit: I installed an older driver version for my computer and it seemed to fix the problem but I tried to installed the corsair CUE utility to modify my keyboard and while installing the driver the computer crashed. Really sad
This sent it back to the previous state where it would crash soon after boot.
This is really infuriating.
