Freezing and crashing during games

Hi this is my first post so sorry for any mistakes.

Ive been experiencing problems while playing certain games. After about 5-10 mins of playing Far cry 3, MW2 and Need for speed my whole PC will freeze and after about 20 seconds it will try to restart itself but no display comes up. Ive tried memtest and successful everytime i tried a reformat and installation of windows but no luck. Ive tried reseating everthing in my PC, reinstalling drivers, updating drivers but no luck.

Specs:
XFX Radeon HD 6950, 8gb G.skill ripjaws memory, Intel i5 sandy bridge 3.1 ghz, Thermaltake 650W, WD 1TB, ASUS P8H61 B3, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Hmmm. Could be your PSU. Thermaltake isn't entirely known for quality, even despite shelling out its newer, more capable, Toughpower XT series.

I would say either heat or psu is your problem. Run hwmonitor during your games to see how hot the cpu/gpu gets. I'm guessing you have the stock intel cooler since you have a locked multiplier cpu. Those can be difficult to get on properly so maybe it isn't fully seated.

It is probably not the heat because i do have an aftermarket cooler (Corsair Hydro Series H55) and my temps are 29 -35 degrees Celsius. Ill have to have a look into the psu.

Get a PSU from trusted brands like Antec, Corsair, and Seasonic.
