My friend bought parts and i helped put together his computer. since then the computer has locked up for what seems like no apparent reason. Youtube Videos will lock up the computer after a couple seconds or a minute and the computer will lock up when you start to do stuff other than idling. I was messing with it tonight to try and make another attempt at getting to the bottom of this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, reinstalled windows two or three times, uninstalled flash player.

He took this Rig into the computer store and they said the motherboard was over heating. I've been running stress tests while watching the temps and have ruled out over heating as the temps are normal around idle and are not high with stress test. However if i close the stress test the problem still persists and will not go away. what could be causing this?

Running stress test as i type this playing youtube videos just fine too. these are the temps (from open hardware)

I'm not sure. I have installed the lastest drivers for the Mobo before and still had the freezing problem. I'll have to check the BIOS version when I am actually at home. I'll reply as soon as i know if an update is needed. where can i get said drivers to update?

well hopefully it's not. I'm posting pictures so you can see voltages.

Kinda hesitant about flashing a BIOS. if i brick the mobo then im gonna have to pay for it most likely and never flashed a BIOS. Not sure where to even get the right BIOS files from.

Do i need to get both the BIOS and BIOS utilities?

Alright, I will try doing a BIOS update. I'll have to wait till this weekend to do so though. Will this thread lock if i don't post for a couple days? if so I'll keep updating things I've noticed or thought of that could cause this issue.

Decided to pull up that picture i posted and noticed that the board has the latest BIOS posted on their site. 2501 is installed on the board.

I changed something dealing with the board getting the speed of components and uninstalled the audio cause I've heard of that causing issues similar and I didn't have it lock up. Does this board possibly do automatic overclocking? I set some option that gets it automatically to manual and haven't had YouTube lock the system. Gonna test more tonight
