A while ago I had posted about my computer freezing up. Still to this day I'm still having problems were I'll be doing something and I'll get a Blue Screen of Death. Typically the error is BAD_POOL_CALLER. Now I know the Bad Pool Caller error is from memory. Other times its just a blue screen with no message.
I could leave my pc on all day and not have this problem, yet when I play games such as Warcraft III FT, Unreal 2004, or even listen to mp3s (almost always crashes with winamp as I scroll through songs) I have problems.
Before I suspected the motherboard, but tonight when I went to change my sound from software to hardware, it immediatly crashed, leading me to believe the soundcard was the source.
Could a bad soundcard make MEMTEST86 freeze while scanning ram? The freezing during memtest is what made me believe it had something to do with the mobo but now I'm unsure. I dont want to send back something that isnt broke.
Please give me any and all input you may have as well as any advice.
My PC specs are:
Board: Intel Corporation D875PBZ AAC26680-205
2.4C gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
RAM
Slot 'J5G1' has 512 MB
Slot 'J5G2' has 512 MB
Slot 'J5H1' has 512 MB
Slot 'J5H2' is Empty
1 Hard drive partioned to 3
Creative SB Audigy (with the front panel device as well)
HITACHI DVD-ROM GD-2500 [CD-ROM drive]
LITE-ON LTR-32123S [CD-ROM drive]
3.5" format removeable media [Floppy drive]
Windows XP
Thanks, Onslaught
