Freezing

When I am using Instand Messaging, and I have my Web Cam running, and I try
to access my E Mail..my desk freezes..and I can only recover by shutting down
the PC, for about 1 hour...If I try to start again before that I sometimes
can get as far as the desktop, but no Icons appear..so I have to power down,
and start over...any suggestions/Rob

Check for a virus/malware, just in case.

The symptoms sound a bit like a heat problem - are you over clocking?
Have you any tools with the PC to check the CPU temperature?

It could also be a memory issue, Google for 'memtest' and run that
(best to leave it running over night) it will pick up any memory
problems you might have.
