Frequency doubled = Perf Doubled ?

In order to understand how the OC works, i'd like to know if you double the frequency, will the perf double too ?

That is not how OC works. The increase is not directly proportionate, as the OC implies changing the default settings on more than one feature. You should do some research before engaging in OC, as wrong settings may fry your PC.

Thanks, it was just a supposition, i won't double the frequency

In the case of a i7-7700 overclocked to 5Ghz, the perf won't be 1/3 better than the i7-7700 3,6GHz.

I wonder which cpu I will buy 7700k or 7700. Is the 7700k worth it ?

The 7700k has an unlocked multiplier, which means you can increase the freq of the CPU without altering other settings. You just change the multiplier from BIOS.
