Frequent bluescreen after installing ram

Hey all
I've been running into some issues after installing 12 gigs of corsiar vengeance lp ram - DDR3 1600 hz. My pc is bluescreening quite freqently - usually about 10 minutes after it boots up. Most recently it happened when I was watching a video on youtube. But it also happens when I just leave it on for awhile. And it just happened again after I finished that last sentence.
I haven't changed anything on the system except for the ram. I changed the bios settings so that the ram would run at 1600 and that is all I have changed there.

On a possibly related note, I purchased 16 gb of the ram (4x4gig), but was only able to install 12. When I install the last one, my computer turns on, but nothing shows up on the screen. Also, the ram is in the 2,3, and 4 slots on my mobo.
Help would be appreciated, otherwise I will have to go back to 4 gigs of 1333hz.

In order to get RAM to 1600MHz you will have to overclock your NB and your CPU.

I would suggest dropping back to 1333MHz since that is the default for your CPU. You won't really notice any performance difference at all, and it will be much more stable. Also, you should be able to run all 16GB.

Unless I set it to 1600MHz the computer won't even turn on - I was told to do this on other forms. Anyway, the problem is solved. I had to change the clock setting on the ram from manual back to automatic. It hasn't crashed in over a week.
