For the past several months, one of our workstations has been having frequent disk usages spikes (100%). During them, everything freezes -- very very frustrating. I tried disabling windows search and disabling any power saving options in power settings to no avail. Finally, today I switched the ssd's sata cable from the 6th slot behind the graphics card (possibly making it hang loose a bit) to the 1st slot. I read about the suggestion here even though it wasn't listed as a solution. It's only been an hour so far, but no spikes. Also, I'm no longer seeing frequent 153 'disk'and 129 'storahci' errors in my event log. Hope this helps someone.
