[SOLVED] Frequent drops in internet connection

All devices on my network temporarily lose internet connection very frequently throughout the day. It depends, the time between a drop in connection could be a few minutes or a few hours.

Our router is a Netgear WNDR3800 (N600) with 1 wired devices and anywhere from 4 to 7 wireless devices(incl. Google Home(s) and Amazon Firestick). The router firmware is up to date.

The modem is a Hitron eMTA E31N2V1 issued by our IPS, Charter Communications.

We tried contacting the ISP and they said the issue laid within our router as they don't have any reports of the modem "going down", though when this occurs the modem doesn't go offline-there's just a drop in internet connection. They also told us to try upgrading the firmware on the router, to which there was no upgrade necessary.

Any help is appreciated.

Solution
Does your router have any bandwidth graphs? It's helpful to know if high usage was happen when you lost connection. Something like bittorrent can swamp your connection and other devices timeout when trying to use the internet.

That router is pretty outdated if you are thinking of replacing either way might as well try and that will rule out the router.
