Fresh 970 and low fps csgo

Hey guys I just got my Evga gtx 970 SC acx 2.0 and I decided to play a game of counter strike by the way im running 144hz monitor at 1920:1080 and I looked at my fps and it was just sitting around 100-120 fps I was very confused and was wondering how this is possible with a 970. I was getting good fps in games like gta v and the fans were not on by the way when playing GTA V. But as soon as i started Csgo My fans turned on. Maybe the graphics card needs a few days to warm up? Thanks.

What mobo, CPU, and PSU? Do you have latest drivers (for both mobo and GPU) ?

CPU: AMD Athlon x4 760k,
Mother Board : F2 A55-MCSM (Bios not updated Im pretty shure)
PSU : CX500M (am upgrading to a 750Watt within a few days)
GPU : Evga Gtx 970 SC ACX2.0 (with latest drivers)
Just to throw it in there 16Gb of ram DDR3 1333 as well as a ASUS VG248QE Monitor
I've been barely getting 140 Fps on certain maps its very frustrating.

Think the PSU may be part of the problem, the CX 500 only has about 450 or so watts on the 12 volt rail and with a 970 I'd want a good 500 at least

so you think my psu needs to be changed and my cpu isn't bottle necking the gpu???

The CPU will be a bottleneck, yes, but I wouldn't run a 970 with a CX500, underpowered for the GPU and not well regarded, I'd be worrying about damaging the GPU or other components

so, having a under powered psu will damage my gpu?I've had my gpu for about 3 days now is it already damaged? And if I get a 750w psu will i see a little increase in my csgo performance since I can overclock my graphics card? Thanks in advanced..

oh! and are my components damaged?? how long can i use this psu with this setup before stuff goes bad?

I'm just saying I wouldn't use the CX500 with that GPU, the CX series of PSUs uses cheap caps and being underpowered it can stress the PSU

Ok so how long can i use This psu for lets say a few days would that be fine ? And im assuming I have to upgrade my CPU as well to not be bottle necked..

Get a 650W XFX or EVGA PSU and in terms of CPU just buy an i5 and cheap mobo.
