I recently bought a new mobo, CPU, and GPU, and this probably sounds stupid, but what's the process of uninstalling windows and reinstalling it on the new motherboard? I used the Reset This PC option in the settings menu, but that just reinstalled windows automatically and I was having issues when I put my new mobo in. In case you need them, specs are X99A Gaming Pro Carbon mobo, i7 6800k 3.4 ghz, and MSI 1070.

can you run windows on old hardware still? if so, do this before swapping - reactivating win 10 on new hardware

sanest way to do it after a new motherboard is a clean install.

boot from installer

On the screen where you choose where to install win 10, if it gives you an error about GPT drives, delete all the partitions on the hdd and press next. If it still gives error, cancel out of the installer and restart PC and start installer again, it will accept next on that screen this time (some PC just need a restart here)

This is probably the clearest and easiest way to do this I've found after hours of searching the web. Thank you and have a good day sir.
