If I’m trying to format my Hdd drive while doing a fresh install of windows 10 onto a ssd. Is it a safe bet to keep the sata cable plugged in on the hdd drive and continue the installation process with broth drives in?

-I’ve ran into an issue where windows did not want to boot because the automatic repair did not find any solution into fixing the problem. So I find myself in a little pickle and I am not sure what exactly I need to do. I want to clean both drives so I don’t run into any issues with windows again.

Leave the HDD unplugged.
Windows has a silly habit of sometimes putting the boot partition on the 'other drive'.
