So i've spent roughly 4 days with my new SSD, and all 4 of those days have been more frustrating than any PC moment of my life.

This is where I'm at right now.

I have the most updated BIOS version (an unreleased beta i got from a customer service call actually :vip:)

I have updated the firmware on my SSD (i didn't even know this was possible)

I have a new windows installation media USB drive (made with rufus, set to GPT mode)

After a fresh install, I cannot boot from the drive. Yes, i had only one drive hooked up during the install.

After the installation i ran diskpart to get some info about what is actually on the disk and got this:

And then did the same on my working laptop to see what it should look like:

So obviously there is something wrong with the fact that the FAT32 partition is not given the info of 'System', and that the C drive is not given the info of 'Boot'

Does anyone know of a manual way to set this so that my UEFI will recognize the drive as a bootable windows drive?

I guess this is the same problem you raised in another thread, right?

I really think you should "start over" as it were. Proceeding on the basis that your SSD contains no data...

1. As I believe I suggested in my previous post...use the Windows Media Tool for your flash drive to contain the Win 10 setup files rather than the Rufus version.

2. Use Diskpart to "clean" the SSD and initialize the drive GPT-style. It's unnecessary to partition/format the drive.

3. With only the SSD & the flash drive connected to the PC, boot the system and access the boot menu to select the UEFI interface (not the USB interface) for the flash drive as the bootable device.

4. It should be a straightforward operation to install the Win 10 OS onto that GPT-partitioned SSD.
