Fresh PC build, can I use a windows key from G2A?

Can I buy a windows 8.1 key from G2A for $40 and put it on a flashdrive then use it to install on a new PC that I'm building for a friend?

Yes, a product key from g2a will allow you to install windows. You can buy a disc for another 7 dollars. It will work via usb as well

G2A is not a valid reseller, per direct confirmation from Microsoft.
Win 8 Pro for $40 - If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...

If you buy that 'key', you have nothing to put on a flash drive and install. You still have to get the actual installation from somewhere.

Just bite the bullet and buy a valid Win 8 or 8.1, from a valid reseller. Amazon, Newegg, TigerDirect....

I chose the solution right before you posted, but good call, I think I may end up just buying the disk. Not my money anyway

You might want to wait more than 3 minutes before selecting a best answer, just because that answer agrees with your preconceived notion.

The install disc is required even if you have a product key. If you want a full guarantee, buy from an authorized os seller
