I have a 250 gig Samsung 750 EVO on the way and want to switch to W10 from W7 Ultimate Edition-the latter of which is currently installed on a 1TB HDD.
I want to do a clean install of the OS (i already have it on a flash drive)
I want to reformat/wipe the HDD and want to know what the specifics of doing that are during the installation process.

And for reals, is the switch worth it? Feel free to share your experience and opinions. The main reason for upgrading was DX12 and the "exclusive" titles that are coming to the platform.

Any help'd be appreciated :)

Solution
youed have to upgrade from 7 to 10 first to activate windows 10 then ya can do a fresh install.

windows 10 upgrade activates via digital entitlement after that least till the anniversary update hit witch they supposedly linking your digital entitlements to your Microsoft accout.

windows 10 it self support full uefi boot .witch would start up a hell of a lot faster .
unlike 7 .windows 7 only support uefi installs with a win 7sp2 included install disk but doesn't support full uefi boot even though it can do uefi intalls youd still have to run csm legacy support with windows 7.

windows 10 itself uses way less system resources then 7 and 8 .just takes time getting used to it the changed the start menu and stuff .
as for direct x 12...

Solution
unless ya bought a retail copy of 10 and just fresh install then .

when ya do the install ya have to force the drive that has your instlation media to boot uefi for the instillation media itself to do uefi install.

example some bios onder boot order ya can select the drive ya installing widows with be it a dvd blue ray or usm or external hard drive .
will have multiple entrys like ahci then name of drive or uefi then name of the drive so youed select uefi and correct drive path .

othger board youd have to force storage controllers to boot uefi in csm legacy support options if your aint they type mentioned above .

to do a full uefi boot your video card has to support uefi . if older video card and not sure contact the video card manufacture.
cuase they can email you a new bios aka firmware for your video card follow they steps then give ya and flash it .
