Fresh Windows 8 Installed on SSD, 'Windows was unable to complete the format' on old HDD with Windows 8 installation.

Solution
Did you tried to format the HDD with a bootable media (DVD/USB) or just from inside windows ? I think you just tried to format the HDD from windows, and it will never work. Try a bootable media to format.

Yes, it's absolutely great! I've installed it and optimized it so there aren't any useless writes. I've written 0.3tb so far and my read is 540mb/s and write is 420mb/s! Even new the Kingston v300 only managed 450mb/s read and 160mb/s write for just £30 less. This also has a 5 year warranty.

Anyway, I sorted the problem out by changing the boot order of my DVD drive in my BIOS, I formatted it using the installation disk but then my OS on my SSD wasn't getting detected, so I autorepaired it from that disk which fixed the problem.
